About the work

Created in the aftermath of the loss of the artist’s father, this work meditates on life and death and asks whether life may be a perceptual illusion. A robot placed inside the skin of a dead fish challenges the viewer to question whether movement and energy define life, and what it means to be alive. The piece invites reflection on perception, mortality, and the human struggle to make sense of the world.
