Watermelon
The work begins with an encounter on Kölner Straße: the artist makes eye contact with a watermelon left alone on a shelf. In a fictional monologue, the watermelon speaks of abandonment, desire, and sweetness. The artist takes it home, slices it, and the next morning it is gone, turning the encounter into a reflection on love, absence, death, and memory. The sound installation features water droplets from a watermelon hitting zinc objects below.
